Consultations

Prior to treatment, it is essential that you arrange a consultation with your therapist.

This consultation allows us to thoroughly explain the treatment, to ensure you understand its advantages and any potential risks, and allows us to assess your suitability for treatment. It also gives you the client, an opportunity to have a confidential discussion with your therapist, enabling you both to ensure your goals and expectations are understood and achievable.

Most consultations will last approximately 30 minutes for most treatments - however skin care consultations can take up to 45 minutes. You will be asked to complete a consultation form to identify any underlying medical condition(s) and/or medications and your written consent may be obtained.

Respect for confidentiality is an essential requirement for the preservation of trust between our patients and the treatment therapists. The confidentiality policy of this establishment supports the basic principles of data protection, i.e. that personal data shall only be disclosed with the fully informed, voluntary consent of the subject, that personal data held should be adequate, relevant but not excessive for the purpose, and that information should only be used for the purpose for which it was disclosed.

A Patch Test will be offered if appropriate and if you feel confident in your decision to progress to treatment. A Patch Test is carried out to determine the treatment parameters and to judge how your skin might react to a full treatment. A Patch Test is carried out on the treatment site to allow the therapist to assess how well the light energy is absorbed and whether skin responds as is expected.
